Haruna Iddrisu did not sell out NDC to us – Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu Says. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the Majority Leader in Parliament, has denied charges that Haruna Iddrisu “sold out” his caucus when he was Minority Leader.
Such assertions, he maintains, are false and should be ignored entirely. Haruna Iddrisu did not sell out NDC to us – Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu Says.
According to the Suame MP, it is terrible for someone who has served his party and country so well to be labeled as such.
“Let me state unequivocally and firmly that no such thing occurred. I had a really good working relationship with them [former Minority leaders], but many interpreted it differently.
“The business of the Minority Leader is to assist the Majority Leader in facilitating government business, and doing so should not be interpreted as selling out to the Majority.”
Meanwhile, Alban Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament, praised Mr Iddrisu and his colleagues.
Mr. Bagbin wished the outgoing Minority leadership well in their endeavors as he welcomed the MPs back to the House.
“The former members of the [Minority] leadership led by Haruna Iddrisu must be congratulated since their track record of performance is obvious to everybody, and I hope the new leadership will draw from their fountain of wisdom, a treasure trove of riches and experience.”
“What I can say to the old leadership is, the Lord is your shepherd, you shall not lack and when one door closes, another one opens and I tell you for sure that the opened doors are better and higher than the closed doors. Look at the open doors, not the locked doors, and with that, I welcome you all back.”
